Our Story

Lime was created in 2010 by salon owner John Baillie who felt the area lacked a friendly yet progressive and forward thinking salon. He opened with only two staff in one small salon, but the fast growing demand meant John was able to grow the business to include two small salons, and 15 staff within a short period of time.

At this point, the sister salon Lime Lounge was born and our journey to becoming a highly respected hair and beauty salon began.

The team quickly expanded and John used his background in education and the qualifications he had alongside it to cultivate his staff – passing on his huge thirst for education and learning new hairdressing skills to the ever growing enthusiastic Lime team.

In 2015 John and Salon Manager Ryan began hunting for premises that could cope with the now large Lime team and their ever growing clientele. They discovered the distinguished Old Corn Exchange building was available and started on the long road to breathing life back into this exquisite looking tired old building.

June 2016 and the new salon opened its doors – making it one of the largest salons is Fife. John worked his magic and designed the salon in such a way it kept its friendly local salon feel while offering more services than ever and maintaining the feel of the original grand building. Currently, the salon has a team of 25 creative, enthusiastic and talented people.

With the opening of the new salon Matrix granted us the very prestigious title of Biolage Flagship Salon for Scotland. Matrix are a huge American hair colour house, and it is an honour for John and Team Lime to be endorsed by them.

In 2017, we added another beautiful salon to our group, Lime Salon - Bridge Street. We created a city centre haven that brought the luxurious surroundings, exceptional customer care and a host of industry experts to this second location.
